WHAT'S NEXT?

• Next year will look like this year
• Governor's Budget could change everything - mid-year cuts, more deferrals in payments to district
• We must enter meaningful negotiations quickly
• We must curtail current year spending

GOV. PROPOSED BUDGET

No mid-year cuts were proposed in the Governor's proposed budget. However, the budget still has to go through the state legislature and then be signed by the governor.

We are encouraged by the current situation and hope that further cuts to education will not happen.

If cuts do occur, the Association will be back at the negotiation table fighting to protect teachers.
