The district has changed the notification process for TB testing. Previously, teachers would receive a written notice that it was time to be retested for TB. The county has offered a program in which that notification will appear on a teacher's pay stub.  There will be no paper from the district office.

The problem with is that if a teacher has electronic transfer of funds and does not look over the pay stub when it arrives in the mail the teacher could not know that TB testing is required.

ALEA discussed this matter with the district personnel office and agreed to the following:

• ALEA would post a notice on its website about the matter.
• The district personnel office will send out a notice if a teacher fails to get the TB testing within a timely manner.
• ALEA has encouraged the district to send out a global email explaining the new process.

Remember, if you don't get the TB testing done, your pay will stop!
